There are 48 HT Consumers and 508676 LT Consumers with monthly average revenue Rs.187 Lakhs for HT and Rs.970 Lakhs for LT.
The District is agriculture oriented one. Hence the agriculturists play a dominant role with 43,712 services out of this there are 11,575 consumers coming under Self Financing Category.

An important aspect to be noted in Thanjavur district is the absence of any hydro electrical or thermal project, although all villages of the district are electrified.  Though agriculture in the district mostly depends on Cauvery water, sinking of  bores, energising of tube wells are taking place gradually due to failure of monsoon and other reasons.  Free electricity is provided to farmers for agricultural practices and also one light is provided at free of cost to slum dwellers by government.  The statement given below shows the annual consumption of power during 1999-2000 under difference categories in Thanjavur district.
